The idea

The idea arose on a late summer evening some years ago, when founder Jann cycled home from the office, and discovered that something fell out of the bag of a man in front. It turned out to be a set of keys. The man with the bag continued undisturbed. Jann picked up the keys, but the man had disappeared and did not return. Jann was therefore left with a set of keys, without the possibility of contacting him.

Research indicates a HUGE scope!

No one knows the total extent, and information on lost & found is very sparse. It has thus only been possible to find statistics that show figures for lost bicycles, parking damage and the like, but none that show figures for lost & found in general.

After researching a modest selection of attractions, hotels and restaurants, our conclusion is clear. The scope is enormous, and includes everything from home-knitted hats and mittens to very valuable possessions.

Authorities, politicians and others don’t give a damn it seems

Seen in the light of the extent and value of what is disappearing, forgotten and lost, one would think that there would be great attention from the authorities and others. But that is not the case. For example, if you find something that has been lost property and want to hand it in to the authorities, the message in most places is that they are not interested in receiving it, if the value is estimated to be less than a set amount.

Lost & found is therefore often thrown away, which is a huge waste of resources, and in direct contradiction to an increasing desire to focus on sustainability and specifically waste of resources.

Optimize lost & found info-sharing and bring-back-belongings

Some organizations have created their own services for managing lost and found information, which is typically a page on the company's website.

The services have in common that they only contain information about lost & found within the organizational domain.

People who are unsure where to look, have to search multiple places, which is inconvenient because it is relatively time-consuming and causes many to give up.

The CrowdEyes services are designed specifically to share lost & found information across organizations and geographic boundaries, so people only need to search one platform to find the information they need to bring back their lost and found.

Using CrowdEyes to share lost & found information will bring sense to it all.

Mission

CrowdEyes will harmonize the method of sharing lost & found information.  Share them in one place and be able to search them in one place.

Vision

The CrowdEyes online-services is the preferred platform for sharing lost & found information.

Core Values

Sustainability

CrowdEyes believes that lost and found information should be shared effectively so that people can easily get their lost and found back, as a more sustainable alternative to buying new. CrowdEyes will thus contribute to making it easier for individuals to act sensibly and responsibly.

Community

CrowdEyes recognizes the fact that people share lost & forund information in small locally oriented communities, to help each other and as an alternative to the traditional solution offered by the authorities.

Sharing takes primarily place in Facebook groups, which are often associated with a local area or a specific interest group. The groups are also used for sharing many other types of information.

At CrowdEyes, we se very significant benefits by harmonizing the sharing of lost & found information, which means all information are shared in one single solution. It will make it much easier for people who have lost something to find exactly the information they are looking for in their efforts to be reunited with what they lost.

We would like to help promote a development that supports a harmonization, and  has therefore made our MobileApp freely available to people who see the value and want to contribute to optimize the share lost & found informations process. It will help people in general and the entire community.
